Most tradesmen ignore leads that didn't buy immediately. Here is the simple email sequence that brings them back to life.
You visit a property. You spend 2 hours measuring up. You spend another 2 hours writing a detailed quote. You send it off.
And then... radio silence.
You chase them once, maybe twice. Then you give up and move on to the next one. That lead is "dead", right?
Wrong.
Just because they didn't buy now doesn't mean they aren't going to buy. Maybe they got busy. Maybe they are saving up. Maybe they hired a cowboy who messed it up and they need you to fix it.
That list of "dead" quotes in your inbox is a goldmine waiting to be tapped.
The "Are You Still Looking?" Email
This is a strategy perfected by Dean Jackson, a real estate marketer. It works for trades better than almost any other industry. It is called the "9-word email".
Go through your quotes from the last 6 months. Send them this exact email. Do not add a logo. Do not add a footer. Make it look like you typed it on your phone.
Subject: [Project Address]
Hi [Name],
Are you still looking to get your kitchen sorted?
Cheers,
Dean
That is it. Seriously.
Because it is short and personal, it invites a reply. It feels like a conversation, not a sales pitch.
Why It Works
We typically see a 20% response rate to this email. Of those responses, half of them are "No, we sorted it", but the other half are "Yes, we were just delayed, when can you come round?"
If you have 50 dead quotes at £5,000 average value, and you reactivate 10% of them, you just made £25,000 from one email. Why wouldn't you do this?
Automate It
You can set this up in Mailchimp or your CRM. Set an automation: "If quote status is 'Pending' for 30 days, send Email 1".
You do the work once, and it pays you forever. That is the GOWI way.
